Tile Setter

Job Summary. We are seeking a skilled, detail-oriented Tile Setter to join our remodeling team in Myrtle Beach. You will be responsible for prepping surfaces, layout design, cutting, and installing various tile materials in kitchens, bathrooms, and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate takes pride in precision craftsmanship and maintains a clean, professional job site. 🛠️ Key Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Level subfloors, install backer board, apply waterproofing membranes (e.g., Schluter systems), and float mortar beds. Layout Planning: Measure surfaces, calculate tile patterns, establish grid lines, and dry-lay tiles to ensure balanced, symmetrical cuts. Installation: Mix and apply thin-set mortar or mastic; precisely set ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, glass, and mosaic tiles on floors, walls, and showers. Cutting & Shaping: Safely operate wet saws, tile cutters, grinders, and nippers to make accurate straight, curved, or hole cuts around fixtures and outlets. Finishing Work: Mix, apply, and clean grout; install spacer joints; apply caulking, silicone, and penetrating sealers to finish joints and edges. Demolition: Safely remove outdated tile, old mortar beds, and subfloors without damaging underlying plumbing, wiring, or framing.📋 Job Requirements & Qualifications Experience: Minimum of 2–5 years of professional tile setting experience, preferably in high-end residential remodeling. Technical Skills: Expert knowledge of mud work, shower pan construction, waterproof layouts, and diverse tile materials (porcelain, marble, cement).Tool Proficiency: Ownership and mastery of standard hand tools, wet saws, laser levels, and safety equipment. Physical Stamina: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand, kneel, bend, and crouch for extended periods throughout the workday. Professionalism: Strong communication skills, punctuality, a valid driver's license with reliable transit, and a clean criminal background check.💼 Benefits & Compensation Pay Range: $22.00 - $28.00per hour, based on experience and speed. Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday (day shift), with occasional weekend availability.
